Splinterlands

Splinterlands is a collectible card game created in 2018, where you must assemble squads to fight other players. It was based on the Hive blockchain. It was originally called Steem Monsters, but was later renamed Splinterlands. For gamers it is more reminiscent of Hearthstone Battlegrounds, because one of the main mechanics is the automatic execution of battles by artificial intelligence based on the principle of randomness.

Thanks to building the game on the blockchain, players are able to use not just cards, but full-fledged NFT, which distinguishes Splinterlands from Hearthstone, where there is no marketplace as such.

You can get income not only from winning battles, but also dividends from steaking. This organizes passive income for all players of the project. Despite the fact that the actual person is not involved in the battles, he prepares the deck for the game, which also requires certain skills and knowledge. This allows the NFT game to become interesting.

The basic mechanics of the game
The mechanics are similar to Hearthstone: the game has about 300 cards, which are divided into factions and each of them has its own characteristics. Cards can not only be bought and sold, but also rented. There is also guild functionality (communities within the game).

The player must assemble a deck of cards available to him (you can always buy them on the market or try to find them in special sets). Then go into a fully automatic battle. At the end of the battle he will receive a reward and the experience necessary to develop the cards.

How to start playing
Registration in the project is open to every user, but this will require payment of an entrance fee of $10. For this amount the user receives a starter set of cards, which can be used to build the first deck of cards. The compiled decks are used for battles, and if the player wins, he is rewarded with DEC tokens.

All cards in the game are divided by elements: fire, water, earth, life, death, dragons. It is the element that determines what monsters the player can summon. Each card has characteristics: mana required to summon, attack, speed, defense and health. Next to the character’s name you can see the level of the card, the higher it is, the stronger the card is.
